sometimes we don’t need another lesson. we need a reminder: a few words to return to when we are rushing, angry, tired or afraid. here are twelve of Thầy’s quotes. save one on your phone. keep one on your desk. and when one speaks to you, pause, take a breath, and practise it.

how to keep these quotes close
a quote only helps if you meet it again at the right moment. a few small ways to keep these close:
- open any image to see it full size, then save it as the wallpaper on your phone.
- pick the one that fits today and put it where you will see it: a sticky note, the edge of your screen, your desk.
- when one speaks to you, breathe with it. breathing in, say the first line; breathing out, the second.
these words are his; the photos and the brush circle were made for them, with gratitude. to practise with them, read we will continue, Thầy, or breathe with his words for eleven minutes: breathe with Thich Nhat Hanh · 11 minutes of mindful breathing.
kindly press play when you're ready, and breathe with him for 11 minutes.
p.s. this post was written for Thầy’s 100th continuation day, 11 October 2026, in gratitude for the life, teachings and seeds of peace he continues to share with the world.
